To be an in-field missionary one must take the steps of going onto mission trips.
One way to accomplish this is through Churches / mission training / sending agencies. Usually these groups will maintain a list of short and long term missions opportunities.
The Apostle Paul spent between 9-10 years on his various missions.
Paul’s 1st missionary journey took about 1 year (Acts 13-14).
Paul’s 2nd missionary journey took about 3 years (Acts 15:36-18:22).
The 3rd journey took about 5 or 6 years, including a 3year hiatus in Ephesus (Acts 18:23-21:16).
In the following list of missionary trip opportunities each agency or group may differ based on their mission goal such as:
a) Pilot b) School Missions
c) Bible translation d) Church planting
e) Connecting with loss people groups
f) Etc.
This list is not an endorsement of any one group of agencies/school/Church mission trips. However, this list is a great source to view the opportunities available to you in your search.
